About Funktion-Design

Funktion-Design was created in January 2006 by web developer; Christopher Madeley and graphic designer; Ana Rico Robles. We now recruit a team of developers and designers from our office in Camden Town.
Chris is originally from Staffordshire, UK. With a background in bar / club and restaurant management, he has promoted and managed venues in Manchester, Miami and London.
After 20 years in the business he decided it was time to pursue his passion for design and technology and taught himself web development and design. Ana is originally from Palma de Mallorca in the Baleares islands, Spain. She has a degree in history of art and graphic design.
The two met in 2005 while Chris was helping a friend to design a web site and menus for a restaurant, soon after, Funktion-Design was born!

This web site was written in XHTML with elements of Javascript, PHP 5, Flash CS3 and utilises a MySQL database for storing and retrieving data. The drop down / scroll up effect that you see on all pages was written using Javascript to maintain search engine readability of all its content. The mouse animation was written using Flash CS3 and the Funktion-Design logo was designed using Adobe Illustrator. The site is hosted on a Windows server by our friends at Fasthosts UK

We have done a great deal of work for bars, night clubs and restaurants due to our contacts and knowledge of the industry.
